Reporting to the Executive Director, the Research Director is a senior member of CBRC’s leadership team. Working collaboratively with CBRC’s research team and external partners, the Research Director is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of CBRC’s 2S/LGBTQIA+ research program, including flagship initiatives such as Sex Now and Our Health. In partnership with the Executive Director and with CBRC research program leaders (including Associate Directors of Research, Research Scientist, Social Epidemiologist, and embedded postdoctoral fellow), they are responsible for securing sufficient funding and overall management of research grants and commitments. The Research Director also works to advance the priorities of the research program across CBRC, and support cross-departmental collaborations and relationships with other CBRC departments, including the Two-Spirit Program, Education, Knowledge Mobilization, and Policy, and Communications Departments.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Harm Reduction Worker connects with marginalized street-involved populations through evening work on the Outreach Van
Delivering care and non-judgmental support to people who use substances and people experiencing housing insecurity in outreach setting including: lay counselling, advocacy, systems navigation, crisis intervention, and other support activities.
Building relationships and develop rapport with people accessing the Outreach Van.
Providing safer use harm reduction education and equipment, including naloxone training.
As a member of the Cool Aid Health Centres multidisciplinary team, the Health Outreach Clinician accepts referrals from the team relevant to the patient’s social determinants of health. Utilizing the confidential electronic medical records system, the health outreach clinician extracts relevant medical information to direct and enact diagnostic and clinical treatment, and collaboratively work across disciplines to facilitate wrap-around services.
Part-time positions for provincially licensed physicians available in a busy urban clinic specializing in men’s sexual health testing, diagnosis and treatment. Day, evening and weekend clinics available. Working in a multi-disciplinary team with RNs, clinicians and counsellors, your primary function would be to provide comprehensive testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections. Training and shadowing opportunities are available with experienced doctors if required.

HQ offers rapid, on-site laboratory testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted bloodborne infections (STBBIs) such as syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and HCV. These tests will be processed and diagnosed within hours, enabling same-day results. This capacity allows HQ to provide immediate prevention and treatment services, such as PrEP, PEP, and HIV care.
We are currently seeking qualified and motivated full-time Medical Laboratory Technologists to support the express testing services for HIV and STBBIs. These positions will work together to manage testing procedures using the Aboott Alinity I series and Hologic Panther systems.
The Data Engineer reports to the Director, OCS and is responsible for developing and maintaining data
warehouse and data storage solutions across OHTN.
This role will support multiple systems, supporting the design of data tables, ETL processes, data
element modifications, and database development and management within multiple cloud-based
platforms.
The systems include the Ontario Community HIV/AIDS Reporting Tool (OCHART) which captures
reporting activities for AIDS Service Organizations, the Ontario Community-Based AIDS Service and
Evaluation (OCASE) system, a client records management tool, and the OHTN Cohort Study (OCS), which
collects data from over 5,000 people living with HIV at clinical sites across Ontario. This position will
support other systems under development as needed.
ICES is currently seeking two highly motivated Research Analysts to join our Research and Analysis Department. The Research Analyst reports to the Research Program Manager in their assigned program. The Research Analyst will work collaboratively with the project team and the Principal Investigator (PI) or Staff Scientist, and will provide analytic input to, and complete their assigned projects.
Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to:
The Research Analyst will perform the following duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
- Develop and execute a data set creation plan and analysis plan for their assigned projects;
- Develop SAS programs to extract and merge data from existing ICES databases according to data set creation plans to create study cohorts following analytic standards and guidelines;
- Carry out statistical analysis on developed study cohorts according to specifications of project analysis plans;
- Prepare and review analytic output (e.g., tables and reports);
- Liaise with project teams and colleagues to ensure project checkpoints and quality assurance reviews are conducted as required through the project life cycle;
- Work effectively and efficiently according to ICES policies, procedures, standards, workflow processes, documents, and requirements (e.g., complete program and project documentation according to ICES standards and guidelines);
- May help prepare study cohorts for students or faculty;
- May contribute to the writing of reports (technical reports/working papers/ICES publications/web-based summaries), abstracts, poster presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and other relevant deliverables, in collaboration with the PI or Staff Scientist;
- May interface with internal and external stakeholders in support of the project such as expert panels, committees, and team meetings;
- May facilitate the uptake of knowledge by local decision-makers across Ontario through the presentation of findings, education sessions, and one-on-one interactions as required;
- May contribute to or support the development of a body of knowledge in support of ICES such as updating dataset, and documentation;
- May contribute to other committees or activities within the department or ICES in support of ICES business plan as required;
