For over 30 years, community has been at the core of the CTN. We value and champion community perspectives, input, and leadership as we play a central role in driving Canada’s HIV and STBBI research efforts. Together, we aim to develop treatments, preventions, and a cure for HIV and STBBIs. Because in research, we need to move beyond having just a seat at the table for Community; we need to build the table together. This course will provide a deep understanding of clinical trials and different roles for community research teams.
The CSCP is a combination of self-paced online learning, with optional virtual group discussions with CTN+ Researchers and learning opportunities with members of the CTN+ Community Leadership Team.
The course is comprised of 6 modules that take approximately 40 minutes each to complete.
Through this course, we aim to:
- Create accessible learning opportunities for community members to participate in clinical research and enter into the research landscape, helping to connect with researchers and opportunities like committee membership, panel appearances, conference participation, and becoming core members of study teams.
- Develop a deeper understanding of clinical trials and different roles for community research teams.
- Foster meaningful engagement and collaboration between research teams and individuals with lived experience.

We are accepting registrations for enrolment now; Please register here to be among the first cohort of students!
