Dr. Olivia Price is a public health researcher interested in the prevention of infectious Diseases among key populations. Olivia was awarded her PhD by UNSW Sydney in 2025. Her thesis concerned vaccine-preventable diseases and sexually transmitted infections among people who inject drugs. She is the CTN+ James Kreppner Fellow, based at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre.

During her CTN+ postdoctoral fellowship, Olivia will work under the supervision of Dr. Nadine Kronfli on a project that is focused on improving the implementation of the Prison Needle Exchange Program (PNEP) in Canadian federal prisons. The overarching aim is to increase PNEP coverage among people who inject drugs in prison, which will contribute to the elimination of bloodborne viruses (e.g., HIV, hepatitis C virus) in this setting. By addressing barriers and facilitators to implementation, the project also aims to improve PNEP adoption and sustainability. It is expected that results from this study will inform scale-up of prison needle and syringe programs in Canada and support advocacy efforts globally.
